We want every guide on MyPuppiess to be the one we'd send to a friend who just brought home a puppy. This page explains how we get there.
How we research
- Health, vaccination and nutrition topics are checked against veterinary bodies and peer-reviewed sources — for example WSAVA, the AVMA, AAHA, the RSPCA, the PDSA and the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center.
- Every article lists its sources at the bottom.
- Training guides use reward-based methods only. We don't recommend punishment, shock or prong collars.
- Where we write from our own experience with dogs, we say so.
Keeping articles current
Each article shows when it was last updated. We review health articles at least once a year and whenever guidance changes.

Independence
MyPuppiess is funded by display advertising. Advertisers don't see or influence articles before they are published. We don't accept payment for positive coverage.
Use of AI tools
We may use AI tools to help with research and drafting. A person reviews, fact-checks and edits every article before it is published and is responsible for what it says.
